Rap sheet: Steven Dadd has been jailed indefinitely after his wife accidentally recorded him raping a 15-year-old schoolgirl
A woman who left a dictaphone in a dressing gown pocket accidentally recorded her husband raping a 15-year-old schoolgirl.
Elaine Dadd heard her husband having sex with the teenager at their marital home in East Cleveland.
Serial sex attacker Steven Dadd was jailed indefinitely and was on Friday night branded a 'significant risk' by a judge.
Mrs Dadd was preparing to return to work, realised the machine had been activated, listened to the recording and discovered what had happened.
Shaun Dodds, prosecuting, told Teesside Crown Court that Mrs Dadd was physically sick when she heard the recording, and reported her husband to Cleveland Police.
When he was interviewed, the convicted rapist gave no reply, but in letters he later sent from prison, he admitted having sex with the girl, but denied forcing her.
Judge George Moorhouse cleared the courtroom so he could listen to the recording, in which the girl repeatedly pleads with Dadd to stop his assault.
He told Dadd: 'You have been in trouble many times in the past. This is an extremely serious offence which fully justifies a lengthy custodial sentence.
'I have read the report about you and I am quite satisfied that you present a significant risk of further harm to members of the public, especially females.'
The court heard that Dadd - also known as Addison - was jailed for four years in 1979 for raping a 16-year-old he picked up in his car and drove to an isolated place.
In 1983, he received six months for another serious sexual offence, and in 1990, was jailed for seven years and nine months for the attempted rape of an eight-year-old.
Dadd was jailed for 14 years in 1996 for false imprisonment and grievous bodily harm after he drove a prostitute to wasteland and attacked her.
Christopher Knox, mitigating, said Dadd had accepted an indefinite sentence because of his record, but should be given credit for sparing his victim the ordeal of giving evidence.
Judge Moorhouse ordered that Dodd should serve at least five years in prison before he is considered for release, but he will only be freed when he is no longer considered to be a danger.
He will also have to sign the sex offenders' register, and a Sexual Prevention Order banning him from having unsupervised contact with under-16s was also made.
Dadd, previously of Glaisdale Avenue, Redcar, pleaded guilty to one charge of rape, committed in February of last year.

SURI: A 50-year-old man, Gopal Soren, hanged himself to death after allegedly hitting his 9-year-old daughter with a spade early on Friday. The incident occurred in Gopalnagar village of Birbhum.
Police said Gopal's wife Sumi Soren had gone out to collect wood. When she returned, she found her husband hanging from the ceiling of their house. Their daughter Budhi Soren was lying unconscious. The girl was admitted to hospital in critical condition. Police are looking into the matter.
Suspected O.C. molester caught in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO -- A man suspected of molesting children in Hunting Beach as well as other regions of Southern California has been arrested by officials in Sacramento.
Richard "Butch" Guillen, 60, was arrested May 13 for molesting a 13-year-old boy at a Sacramento Motel in February 2010.
Guillen was a school bus driver in Santa Rosa, Calif. The young victim rode with the Guillen to and from school. In February, the boy was allowed to travel with Guillen to Sacramento to stay overnight to attend an auto show. During the trip, Guillen gave the boy alcohol and molested him.
The boy reported the incident to family members, who in turn contacted law enforcement. An investigation ensued, and detectives arrested Guillen at his Santa Rosa home. During a search of his home, investigators found thousands of photographs from various Santa Rosa-area youth sporting events.
Investigators also found that from 1980-1995, Guillen coached various youth baseball, skateboard and surfing teams in Hunting Beach in Orange County as well as Imperial Beach in San Diego County.
Detectives strongly believe that there were other children victimized by Guillen during the years he lived in Southern California. Anyone who believes they were victimized by Guillen or has information regarding his interaction with children is urged to contact the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department at (916) 874-5203.
Boys molest, then strangle 5-year-old

KOLKATA: This will send a shiver down the heart of every parent. Two boys — aged 14 and 12 — battered and then strangled a five-year-old girl after molesting her on the terrace of a 10-storied building at Turfview, Hastings, on Tuesday evening.
Even hardened police officers were shocked when the two boys, who were questioned in the presence of their parents, narrated the grisly incident on Thursday.
At first, police were baffled by the crime. Five-year-old Jhumjhum Das’ body was found after an intensive search of the Army quarters. At first, because she had been strangled, police suspected the involvement of an adult.
Then, evidence from the autopsy revealed that the hands that throttled the girl were those of a child.
